The man who got trapped in an island

 Assalamoalaikum,

I found this wonderful story on the internet somewhere. Really this will give me hope every time I read it. It had a big effect on me when most things we read on internet do not make any emiotnal effect on us because of the sheer amount of information passing infront of our eyes every day, making us immune to virtually any news/read.

The man who got trapped in an island

The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited island.

He prayed feverishly for Allah to rescue him, and every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming.

Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect him from the elements and to store his few possessions.

But then one day, after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, the smoke rolling up to the sky. The worst had happened; everything was lost. He was stunned with grief and anger.

"Allah, how could you do this to me!" he cried. Early the next day, however, he was awakened by the sound of a ship that was approaching the island. It had come to rescue him.

"How did you know I was here?" asked the weary man of his rescuers. "We saw your smoke signal," they replied.

It is easy to get discouraged when things are going badly. But we shouldn't lose heart, because Allah is at work in our lives, even in the midst of pain and suffering.

Remember, next time your little hut is burning to the ground--it just may be a smoke signal that summons The Grace of Allah.

Faces

Assalamoalaikum,

It happened a few weeks ago. I went to drop my oldest son at the bus stop for a few days in a  row as opposed to norm when my husband does the job. I would take the youngest with me and on the way back we would spend an hour in the park. It was fun. I had been meaning to write this since then but never had time. It was about the faces.

I would sit there in the park in the morning and many kids going to the village school would pass by the park as a short cut. I would look at their faces and it was surprisng how I had a sense of DejaVu with all of them, I mean really all of them.

I saw the kids with the fed up look on their faces who hadn't done their homework the night before. I saw the kids driving by with their parent, one elbow on the window, face resting on the palm looking out of the car trying to find a way to escape the drive to school. I could almost read in the eyes" I wish we have an accident or I fly away so I won't have to go to school". There were the teacher's pets, all dressed up smartly, smiling broadly anticipating the show off of yet something else. Gait full of pride and confidence and all perked up even early in the morning.

I saw a kid, tossing a ball one day and another day some other thing, with a mean look and a smirk on his face, almost imagining his victim being hurt with it, a typical bully.

This meant that they ARE that way, being a specific kind of a kid at school IS the person you really ARE. It doesn't limit to the school, you show who you are  even at home, all the time, it is part of your personality.

I remember going to the birthday party of a classfellow, a friend, to her home. It was a small party and she was a  class topper. She always dressed very lady-like, proper, wore glasses at school. Never tripped over things, never laughed only smiled, never came late and in short the ultimate Miss perfect ( are you thinking how could I be friends with such people? Believe me I have questioned myself time and time again over this matter as to why my friends are always prefect? Maybe Im the one who makes them remind of un perfection hehehe)

Anyway, I went to her home, surprise surprise, even at just 11/12 years old, she was wearing her dupatta perfectly, it never fell from her shoulders, the same smile, the same gait and everything was perfectly perfect in the exact same way. Gosh!!!

When I think back to how I was in school and how I am now, I think I haven't changed much in terms of personality either. Most if not all of my friends haven't changed either.

It is strange how in every school the nerd, the bully, the bullied, the class clown, the weak, the poor exist. The girl with lice in her hair would still have lice in her hair when she had grand children!!! No Im serious. What's more there are swiss french girls here  in My son's class and they have lice in their hair sometimes. They get suspended and have to come to school after they are treated and cured of it, yet they have it again. When I looked at her, she had the same look on her face and seemed exactly like the lice girl in MY classes, in every school, hehehe.

Allaho Akbar!! Wisdom is a great thing ( no Im not saying I have too much) and  Allah has designed the world in such a  way that with wisdom we would ponder about many things which would lead us to understanding the Majesty of Allah in a better way. Even small things like kids and faces makes me think about Allah;s creations.

If there were more gods, there would certainly have been disorder in the universe, Allaho Akbar everything is so systematic!! SubhanAllah

Scattered Papers

Scattered papers…

Once upon a time an old man spread rumors that his neighbor was a thief. As a result, the young man was arrested. Days later the young man was proven innocent. After been released he sued the old man for wrongly accusing him.

In court the old man told the Judge: 'They were just comments, didn't harm anyone..'

The judge, before passing sentence on the case, told the old man: 'Write all the things you said about him on a piece of paper. Cut them up and on the way home, throw the pieces of paper out. Tomorrow, come back to hear the sentence.'

The next day, the judge told the old man: 'Before receiving the sentence, you will have to go out and gather all the pieces of paper that you threw out yesterday.'
The old man said: 'I can't do that! The wind spread them and I won't know where to find them.'

The judge then replied: 'The same way, simple comments may destroy the honor of a man to such an extent that one is not able to fix it. If you can't speak well of someone, rather don't say anything.
'Let's all be masters of our mouths, so that we won't be slaves of our words.'

Pukhtuns and Rage

Assalamoalaikum,

I just read something on a blog, which I didn't know, seeing as I am so out of touch with news. Any pukhtun who wants to travel outside NWFP needs a visa to travel!!! Anyone travelling IN to NWFP needs a visa too now.

If this doesn't sound like palestine, then correct me if I am wrong. Bombing, war, and holing them up so they would not be able to travel unless they can pay for it. I am so angry i feel like crying, cursing swearing all at the same time. May Allah punish people with evil intentions, ameen.

I may not be a patriotic person but my breath is tangled with the pukhtun breath, and  I share blood and life too. It's like no matter what dialect of pukhtu one speaks, even if it is iranian or afghani it automatically feels like a brother or sister, i can't explain. In such a situation, all the pukhtuns will killl for one another.  They'll die protecting each other because even if a person like me feels there is injustice going on, they'll definately feel it too, InshaAllah. The moment they got out of their own anguishes they'll crush everyone, with my blessings ,whoever tries to conquer them. I must say that cable television and other things may enslave the minds of other pakistanis, but the pukhtun will never  ever respect  a semi naked woman open to all eyes. It won't take them long to snap out of the dream and fight.

I feel enraged about many things going on in the world, whether the afghanis or the NWFP pukhtuns. It's like there are people who want us wiped out. Curse them!!! May Allah punish the uprooters and uproot them, themselves, ameen.

I own the world!!!

Assalamoalaikum,

Going astray from Allah gives the emptiness, insecurity and feeling of loss  that  no amount of social or enterntainment activity will erase. Nothing can fill that void or ease that feeling where you feel sick in your heart and empty in your mind and soul.

May Allah keep me and my family and friends on the straight path and may He guide us and keep us close, ameen.

If one has Allah, the Creator of all things, of the universe, one has everything no doubt, Alhamdolillah. If The Creator is happy with you, you don't have to fear His Creations,, Alhamdolillah; and His creations are everything that we can see or hear or feel or not, everything but Allah is His Creation, so we are  in only and only benefitted here.

Fear Allah and the world is ours, SubhanAllah!!!!

Our Wealth ( Taken from my post at forums.pakfellows.com)

إِنَّ الْإِنسَانَ لِرَبِّهِ لَكَنُودٌ
Truly man is, to his Lord, ungrateful;

وَإِنَّهُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ لَشَهِيدٌ
And to that (fact) he bears witness (by his deed

وَإِنَّهُ لِحُبِّ الْخَيْرِ لَشَدِيدٌ
And violent is he in his love of wealth.

Assalamoalaikum,

These are three verses from surah AlQaria, The translation is given above so you may understand why I am referring to them.

It is very strange, has anyone ever noticed what the purpose of life of an average muslim is?

Get good degrees so that we can get good job so we can get good wages so we can wear better clothes, eat better food, have better cars, homes, phones.. and the list goes on and on and on..

Allah says in Al Qaria that man loves his wealth instensely; the word is Lashadeed, even in urdu we have the shadeed word, hum dolat se Shadeed muhabbat karte hain and it is so true.

We are ungrateful for whatever Allah has given us, look at the world for Allah's sake open your eyes, Allah has given us senses, bodies, babies, spouses, everything that is priceless, yet we are ungrateful and complain to Allah all the time about why we dont have this or that, not just that but we dont even MENTION the things He has bestowed on us.. if you take out the fact that what we dont have is for our own good..

Allaho Akbar!

Allah says man is ungrateful and that Allah sees us that we love our wealth more than anything else, intensely.
Our lives revolve around earning, how sorrowful.

When man was once again lost, wondering as to what his purpose was in life, Allah sent the complete code of conduct, the beautiful Islam, to give us guidance and show us the way to our purpose, obediance to Allah and Following the straight path, yet we are ungrateful.

We canot deny it, our Creator has said what He said about us. What a shame we don;t even read these bits of Quraan. We dont even listen to Him when He makes us feel shameful!

Oh Allah take the love of the world and wealth out of our hearts and strengthen our Imaan and Give us jannat Al firdous, ameen.

Narrated Usama:

The Prophet (PBUH) said, "I stood at the gate of Paradise and saw that the majority of the people who entered it were the poor, while the wealthy were stopped at the gate (for the accounts). But the companions of the Fire were ordered to be taken to the Fire. Then I stood at the gate of the Fire and saw that the majority of those who entered it were women."

Sigh

We know all we need to know, we know all what there is... we just refuse to acknowledge it

It is hard to believe, just like everything that our life is based on, illusions and expectations.

Truth and Falsehood are not hard to distinguish from one another, but it is what our self, our hearts want that we believe, perhaps out of greed, self satisfaction in  the ways we want to..

How hard is it to believe shaytaan is our enemy, yet we follow him knowingly, knowing his tactics..

It is the same thing.

Once a pshycologist said something to me about someone, said this person knowingly loves the things that are destructive to her.. perhaps we all are like that, some more some little,

May Allah protect me, ameen.

Taqwa and love of Allah

Bissmillahi Rahmani Raheem,

I went to the park yesterday with my family, while there, I met a woman.. She seemed to have a far eastern asian look, she waved at me from some distance and started talking to me. I was doing my subtle dawa to her when she amazed me by saying " I am a muslim Alhamdolillah" saying the Alhamdolillah in saudi accent, perfectly! I was amazed as she didnt have a muslim name neither did her kids nor did they seem muslims... She seemed to be a nice person though.

She told me she didn;t pray or dress as muslims because she was disillusioned with muslims, she has muslim rather saudi neighbours without wives and they go out and  commit many sins for which she is a witness, which gets worse when she sees all the muslims in her own country committing many sins and appearing saintly from outside, in short, she said Allah is in her mind and heart and at least she is openly being what she is, and she is morallly nice so she is content...

I told her, what my father in law says, he says:" I do not follow muslims, I follow Islam" which indeed he does..

I proceeded to tell her and then also thought on my own how we feel respect and obligations towards our parents, who have no control over our health and illness, our rizq ( sustainance) and our aulaad ( children) , spouse, happiness and content and the list goes on..they marely gave birth to us and raised us when we were vulnerable... yet we fear them, we respect them, how about Allah? Who has created the entire universe for our usage and knowledge, Allah's blessings are countless, we never think of Him more than once a day, or do we?

We listen to the records of our favourite singers, yet we do not listen to Allah's words ( quran)  we read the novels and books of our favourite authors yet we do not stop to read the book of Allah, let alone showing any interest in it, so if Allah really IS in our hearts and minds, why do we not do the above things out of love for Him?

What kind of love is this? Should we not feel desperate if we do not feel the connection with Him? Should we not feel desperate to stand to talk to Him many times a day in salat? should we not rush to read His book many times a day? That would be love wouldn't it?

Should we not fear Him before we lie, cheat, backbite? We think : what if my parents got to know this or that, let's not do it, why can't we think like that about Allah who is watching us all the time, who banished the iblees for our sake, the shaytaan who promised we would follow him instead of Allah.. Allah watches while we do what iblees tells us, an entity who has been banished by Allah for our own selves.. our own disrespect..

May Allah show us the truth, if we truly love Allah, we will follow His way, love Him, fear Him, and do everything solely for Him.

Oh Allah protect us in Your care and lead us to the rght path and keep us on it, ameen.

My Soul, My Heart..

Bissmillahi Rahmani Raheem,

Today I went up somewhere, up a mountain. I saw a forest from the top of the mountain and as it came closer and closer as we came down.. a thought dawned upon me...

My heart is just  like a forest and no less. Full of tall green luscious trees, very dense that shine with pride in the sunshine... BUT
the dense clusters of bright broad leaves prevent the sun from shining INSIDE the forest, hence it is all dark and dingy inside full of creepy crawlers and creatures that won't spare a second attacking you if you happened to venture inside..

How shameful. It is indeed the heart where Allah lives, which is actually not true, but we say that because it is the heart which Allah sees, the "ikhlaas", an attribute of the heart, based upon which we will be tested.

When I see this, I am so sure of my doom after I'm dust, that I might as well be burried and burnt now.. full of shameful and hateful emotions, thoughts and feelings, I am doomed.

May Allah give me inward and outward beauty and bless me with His love and Nearness, ameen.

Oh Allah I am astray, lead me to the right path and bestow upon me peace and tranquilty and courage which comes with Your obedience, ameen.

That time again...

It is that time again.. when after months of oblivion and lots of thinking and determination and planning and going back to oblivion... I feel empty and then suddenly make the change.

I have noticed that all the major chanegs have come one at a time to become part of me. Some people are lucky they can turn their lives around and that would be it; no relapses, no mistakes, going on Allah's path how He wants us, I enjy them, I truly would want to be that way, but I am of the unfortunate lot who stumble and make mistakes and wake up more than once to find how I have been wrong.

May Allah forgive me, Ameen..

New year or...

Assalamoalaikum, today my dad called me to wish me a happy new year. I dont celebrate new year...

I was speaking with him and telling him how the Islamic New Year was just a day or two ago, why he didn’t call me then, because in my mind that’s really when the new year began, I mean for us Muslims, right? We can’t escape it no matter how much we want. We would have to celebrate our Eids according to Hijra Calender and also Fast according to it,perform our Hajj, etc. If that New Year is more significant than this one then why do we go around actually partying and celebrating the non-islamic new year.

It’s not about the celebration of a day or event, it is a way of life. If we stop for one minute and think, why exactly are we celebrating? We may not even have an answer! I have done it myself for many years when I was young, we even cut a cake at 12am new years eve! Complete Rubbish! When I recall my own experiences of the past I only know one thing, flowing with the tide, doing what I felt was cool with my friends and just for fun.

I suppose  some people started the tradition because they were so happy to live another year... having to meet Allah must not have been on their priority list...We alhamdolillah being muslims shouldn’t need to celebrate it. There’s no point to randomly following customs wihtout understanding them. And if we try to understand it we will find absolutely nothing, yet it is the night, the MOST celebrated night in the whole world of today!

We should concentrate on ourselves, adhere to our religion and stop wasting time celebrating useless things like Valentines Day and New Year and Mother’s day and Friendship day etc..We will regret every second that was wasted not remembering Allah, may Allah protect us.

Let’s “make a resolution”  to try and follow sunnah as much as possible, the moment we wake up from our slumber of heedlessness (ghaflah) that same moment we will resolve not to fall back into it, InshaAllah.

I wonder why we do things without thinking, I wonder why we dont pause for  a second so analyse our thoughts, I wonder why we think that what "troubled" people are doing is much better to do than following the examples of successful and clearminded people, I just wonder....
